The Gispen 414 Armchair by Dutch Originals is a stunning example of mid-century modern design. Its sleek metal frame and vibrant terra orange upholstery make it a standout piece in any room. This compact armchair was designed specifically for women by W.H. Gispen in 1935 and is the counterpart to the Gispen 412: the men's armchair. The women's armchair had a rounder backrest but offered the same level of comfort. The chosen construction with a one-piece frame gives the chair a light bounce. Combined with a molded foam seat and back, this results in unparalleled seating comfort.
This timeless design is both practical and aesthetically pleasing, adding value to any interior, even Queen Juliana's study. A spacious, industrial design classic made from a single piece of curved chrome/nickel-plated tubing with elegant, upturned Bakelite armrests, a clear Gispen signature.
This model is no longer part of the Dutch Originals collection.
