Gerrit Knikker (t'Harde, 1955) was already fond of drawing and painting as a little boy. A big dream was to start at the art academy. Unfortunately, his father did not like this, he had to learn a trade. He has worked in the metal industry for years and eventually had his own machine factory.
Gerrit came into contact with his great passion painting again around the age of 50. He started experimenting on small canvases in his living room. After a few years, his living room was filled with painting. More than 200 paintings were piled up in his living room and bedroom. It was time to show them to the world. In 2012 he started his gallery on the Thorbeckegracht in Zwolle. Here he sold the work he had made at home and continued to experiment.
Since the end of 2019, his gallery has been located in the museum quarter of Zwolle. Around the corner from Museum De Fundatie on Papenstraat.
In the past 10 years he has sold hundreds of paintings and hangs them all over the world.
