Product description
Beautiful unique floor lamp by Angelo Gaetano Sciolari for AV Mazzega. In very nice condition. Chrome beautifully shiny. 4 glass "balls" in fumed / colored Murano glass. This gives this floor lamp very nice warm light.
The famous designer Angelo Gaetano Sciolari, born in 1927, graduated in architecture but wanted to become a film director. But the sudden death of his father at the age of 22 made him take over the family business Sciolari Lighting. Thanks to his new vision, he soon led the family business with great success. Expansion was followed by international awards for lighting and design and Sciolari Lighting became the first Italian exclusive lamp distributor to the US. In the 1950s, Gaetano began designing lamps for other well-known lighting manufacturers such as Italy's Stilnovo and Belgium's SA Boulanger. But it was in the 1970s that, by combining different materials (brass, metal, chrome, ...), he designed some of his most famous candelabras.
AV Mazzega is a renowned Italian glass factory from Murano, founded in 1946 by Angelo Vittorio Mazzega. The company is known for its handmade Murano glass lighting. In the 1960s and 1970s, AV Mazzega collaborated with leading designers such as Carlo Nason and Aldo Nason, resulting in iconic designs that are still appreciated today.
