About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This ensemble, consisting of a sofa and two armchairs, is a design by the Danish architect Arne Jacobsen for the manufacturer Fritz Hansen. The pieces belong to the Serie 3300, originally designed in 1956 for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen and considered a masterpiece of Scandinavian functionalism. The seating group includes a three-seater sofa of model 3303 and two matching armchairs. Each piece of furniture stands on a frame of chromed steel tubing, which defines a clear, geometric line. The upholstery is covered with rich, brown leather, which forms a warm contrast to the cool gleam of the metal and emphasizes the cubic shape of the silhouette. The set is in good, age-appropriate condition. Over the years, the leather has developed a characteristic patina with visible signs of wear, testifying to its history and giving each piece an individual touch. The structure and upholstery are solid and offer the comfort for which this design is known. As a timeless classic of Danish Mid-Century design, this seating group harmoniously blends into various interior styles. It can serve as a central element in a modern living room or as a stylish addition to a classically furnished room.
