Product description
François Desnoyer, born in Montauban (Tarn-et-Garonne) on September 30, 1894 and died on July 21, 1972 in Perpignan (Pyrénées-Orientales), living from 1957 to 1972 in Saint-Cyprien (Pyrénées-Orientales) on July 21, 1972, is a French painter, sculptor and lithographer.
He settled in Paris to enroll in the Arts Décoratifs. He subsequently exhibited at the Salon des jeunes, then at the Salon des indépendants (1921-1922), at the Salon d'automne (1925), at the Salon des Tuileries (1925) and at the Société nationale des beaux-arts.
At the end of the 2nd World War, when the Museum of Modern Art of the city of Paris reopened, a room was dedicated to Desnoyer, between Marc Chagall and Gromaire.
In 1952, Desnoyer participated in the Venice Biennale with Fernand Léger and Raoul Dufy who became his friend.
Ten years later, the Desnoyer Foundation was established in Saint-Cyprien, which organizes regular artist residencies and exhibitions of contemporary art.
He died in 1972.
This canvas ' Vase au Fleurs" 40 x 50 cm is in fine condition and signed in the lower right corner.
