Lumen floor lamp from the FontanaArte archives for Fontana Arte, Italy.
The FontanaArte archives are a collection of ideas, paper sketches, and designs,
initially created internally and then developed over the years until they reach their full potential and become part of the FontanaArte collection.
The designs that emerge from the archives are not associated with the name of a single designer
(some attribute this lamp to Max Ingrand, who was FontanaArte's artistic director for a decade, starting in 1954),
but are the result of teamwork, of the collective creative energy of the professionals
working within the company.
The design is from 1954; this lamp is a later version from the 1970s.
White lacquered metal base, satin opal blown glass shade, double dimmer.
1970s. In very good condition. There are a few spots visible on the shade. These are original to the glass, as the shades of these lamps are handmade.
Height: 176 cm, diameter: 47 cm.
