This is the "Duplex" pendant lamp, designed by the Italian designer Carlo Tamborini around the year 2000 for the well-known Italian manufacturer Fontana Arte. The striking, sleek shade is made of translucent colored Plexiglas (acrylic). The rectangular shade hangs from thin, minimalist steel wires connected to a sleek metal ceiling bar.
When the lamp is lit, the fittings and light sources inside become subtly visible through the semi-transparent walls, creating an atmospheric, diffused light.
