This is the "Duplex" pendant lamp, designed by the Italian designer Carlo Tamborini around the year 2000 for the well-known Italian manufacturer Fontana Arte. The striking, sleek shade is made of translucent colored Plexiglas (acrylic). The rectangular shade hangs from thin, minimalist steel wires connected to a sleek metal ceiling bar.
When the lamp is lit, the fittings and light sources inside become subtly visible through the semi-transparent walls, creating an atmospheric, diffused light.
The Fontana Arte Duplex pendant lamp, designed by Carlo Tamborini in 2000, is a striking piece of Italian design. This fixture combines a sleek, architectural design with a bold color choice, resulting in a contemporary and characterful lighting object.
The lamp is crafted from transparent red plexiglass, ensuring a warm and atmospheric light distribution. The rectangular fixture houses multiple light sources visible through the housing, contributing to the industrial and modern aesthetic. Suspension is achieved via thin steel cables connected to a metal ceiling rose, giving the whole a floating effect.
The object is in good condition, commensurate with its age and use. The original wiring and fittings have been preserved, underscoring the authenticity of the design. The construction is solid and the materials have retained their original shine.
This pendant lamp looks excellent above a dining table or kitchen island in a modern or minimalist interior. The vibrant red color creates a strong contrast in neutral spaces and adds a playful yet sophisticated element to the surroundings.
