Product description
This ‘Fazzoletto’ vase by Fulvio Bianconi features the characteristic handkerchief-like shape. Made using the Zanfirico technique, the vase contains fine, twisted blue and white glass rods that create beautiful patterns. Height: 14 cm. Ø: 15 cm. Origin: Italy, 1950s. Material: glass. Fulvio Bianconi (1915–1996) was an influential Italian graphic designer and glass artist who modernized the legendary Murano glass after World War II. His creative journey began in graphic art and as a caricaturist in Milan, until he met the glassblower Paolo Venini in 1946. This meeting led to a revolutionary collaboration with the design house Venini, where Bianconi broke with tradition using bright colors, asymmetry, and humor. There, he designed world-famous icons, such as the wavy Fazzoletto (handkerchief vase) and the colorful, geometric Pezzati (patchwork cat vases).
