About this seller
ProfessionalProduct description
This is the 'Torso' armchair, a creation by Italian designer Paolo Deganello for Cassina dating from 1982. This piece is an emblematic example of postmodern design, reflecting the boldness and experimentation of the Memphis movement to which Deganello contributed. The armchair's structure is characterized by a contrast of materials and forms. The seat and armrests are upholstered in white leather, while the high, enveloping backrest is covered in a vibrant red textile. The whole rests on four grey lacquered metal legs, whose angular arrangement anchors the piece in its original aesthetic. Kept in very good overall condition, this armchair has its original upholstery. The leather and textile show a light and uniform patina that testifies to its history and authenticity, without altering its functionality or visual appeal. The structure is solid and stable. With its sculptural silhouette and assertive color palette, the 'Torso' armchair is a piece with character. It can serve as a focal point in a living room or office, fitting equally well into a contemporary interior or a vintage or eclectic decor.
