Knut Hesterberg, Germany (attributed)
Sources:
Knut Hesterberg is a world-renowned German sculptor who began his career at the graphic arts and design studio in Zurich, Switzerland. Here he came into contact with the architect and artist Max Bill, who had a great influence on Hesterberg's future work. Hesterberg's sculptures have been exhibited throughout Europe. Many of his large sculptures are permanently exhibited in public buildings throughout Germany, and some in Italy. In the late 1960s, he designed sculptural table forms, particularly for Ronald Schmitt Eberbach and very limitedly for Bacher Tische in Renningen near Stuttgart, to bring art into people's everyday lives.
"KNUT HESTERBERG: SCULPTURE + DESIGN" Carlo Belloli, Verlag W.Jaggi, Basel, Switzerland, 1983
Material:
Steel / Crystal glass
Color:
silver/ clear
Dimensions:
D: 99 cm; H: 51.5 cm; Glass top thickness 10mm
Condition:
The glass table is technically and visually in an impeccable, excellent and almost new condition. It is very well maintained and has only very, very minor signs of wear. The glass top is so well preserved that we assume the previous owner either replaced it or used placemats. Therefore, it has no chips, edge breaks or cracks, nor the usual scratches from years of use. We could only discover one or two light streaks in backlight, and that was it. The high-gloss chrome-plated rings are also like new and have none of the often usual nicks and scratches. The small feet are also very well preserved; the often usual nicks or bumps in the foot area are not present!
Conclusion: Here too, it will be extremely difficult to find a better one!
OUR PRICE:
Our Whoppah price includes the Whoppah sales commission of approx. 20% (16% net commission + 21% pro rata Dutch VAT = 19.36%).
