Product description
In the 1960s, Faïenceries de Quimper HB Henriot produced a range of enameled objects intended for the Breton tourist market. Trays, boxes, and ashtrays made of enameled sheet metal featured the traditional designs of the manufacturer on a lighter and less fragile material than faience. This rectangular tray with rounded corners displays Quimper's most iconic design. At the center, within a medallion circled in blue and pink, is a couple in traditional Breton costume. The man from Quimper, with his round hat and blue jacket, holds his walking stick. His companion, wearing a white coiffe and yellow apron, carries a bouquet. Around them are stylized trees and seagulls in the sky. The edge of the tray is adorned with large blue and red thistle flowers on a green foliage background, featuring the characteristic speckled blue scalloped border of the manufacturer. The gold-colored reverse confirms the enameled sheet metal material. The Faïenceries de Quimper HB Henriot and Henriot France signature is visible on the piece. Dimensions: 20 cm wide, 13 cm deep. France, 1960s-1970s. An authentic Breton souvenir, signed by a major manufacturer, which naturally finds its place in a Quimper collection or on a kitchen wall.
