Modular Sofa “Nuvolone” Rino Maturi for MIMO Padova – 70s (2 Modules)
For sale: iconic modular sofa model “Nuvolone”, designed by Rino Maturi and produced by the renowned Italian company MIMO Padova in the 1970s.
An authentic piece of Italian Space Age design history, characterized by its soft, ample, and enveloping forms, designed to offer particularly generous comfort and attributable to the "cloud" aesthetic typical of the model.
Composition
The lot consists of 2 autonomous modules, which can be combined or used separately:
* 1 linear module – single seat / armless armchair
* 1 corner module
Both modules retain their original upholstery from the period, in a woven velvet / bouclé type fabric in shades of grey-brown mélange.
Condition
Original vintage.
The structure is solid and the foam still retains a good level of comfort.
Please note the presence of a tear on the fabric, clearly visible in the detailed photographs. The defect has already been considered in the pricing.
The sofa can be kept in its authentic vintage condition, ideal for those who appreciate the patina and original history, or it represents an excellent base for a high-quality re-upholstery project, further enhancing its forms and character.
