A rose, a few shades of blue, and all the elegance of mid-20th century French tableware. This Digoin Sarreguemines earthenware dinner plate belongs to the very charming Cannes pattern. Its design features two large roses in old rose and burgundy tones, accompanied by delicately shaded blue foliage. A pale blue frieze, composed of arches, stylized foliage, and small dots, runs around the floral decoration. It delicately frames the composition and gives the plate that lovely balance between floral tradition and the characteristic graphic design of the era's productions. Produced in France around , it bears on the reverse the mark Cannes, Digoin Sarreguemines, France, accompanied by the number 10. With a diameter of approximately 23 cm, it can naturally complete a Cannes set that has become incomplete over the years. However, on its own, it possesses enough character to stand on its own. On a table composed of mismatched antique earthenware, hung on the wall among a selection of plates, or simply placed on a display cabinet, its large rose almost becomes a small painting.
