Dick Loef (1924-1983) Bronze sculpture on a wooden base. Total height is 24 cm. In good condition. Loef studied from 1948 to 1952 at the Free Academy in The Hague. His teachers included Livinus van de Bundt, Jan van Heel and Rudi Rooijackers. In 1949 he was taught by the ceramist Gerrit de Blanken in his studio in Leiderdorp. In 1953 he established himself as a free artist and he created ceramic reliefs for companies and governments in The Hague, Voorschoten and Rijswijk. In 1972, for example, he made a sgraffiti for the side wall for the architect of an apartment building on Lozerlaan in The Hague.[1] In 1963 he made a ceramic wall for the tax office in Zeist after a design by the graphic artist Ootje Oxenaar. This wall was transferred to the Dutch Tile Museum in Otterlo in 2009. Loef's bronze sculpture is mainly located in and around The Hague.
