Original Ingo Maurer table lamp ML 2 designed for Design M from Murano - opaline glass ca. 1967.
The glass housing is flawless and in original condition; the lampshade is not original.
This table lamp, designed by Ingo Maurer for Design M, is a characteristic example of lighting design from the sixties. The ML-2 model distinguishes itself through its elegant, flowing silhouette and the use of high-quality opal glass, resulting in a timeless and refined object.
The base of the lamp is crafted from white opal glass, which ensures a soft, diffuse light distribution. The lamp features a grey fabric shade that forms a subtle contrast with the glossy, organically shaped base. The design reflects the aesthetics of the Mid-Century Modern period, where functionality and form come together harmoniously. The original wiring is present, contributing to the authenticity of the piece.
The lamp is in very good condition, commensurate with its age and careful use. The opal glass has retained its original luster and the structure is completely intact.
This lighting object comes into its own perfectly in a modern or Scandinavian interior. It provides an atmospheric light source on a sideboard, side table, or nightstand, and adds a touch of design history to the room. About Design M:
