A set of two iconic Butterfly armchairs, designed by Gerard van den Berg for the Dutch design brand Montis. This model, introduced in 1983, marked a breakthrough for Montis and is a recognized icon of Dutch Design. The design is famous for its unique construction, where the leather upholstery is zipped around the frame like a jacket. The armchairs are upholstered in supple black leather, which provides a casual and inviting look. The construction consists of a minimalist metal frame, in this case finished in a grey color, that supports the generous seat. The design idea was to create a chair that molds to the body, resulting in an exceptionally comfortable and relaxed seating experience. The condition of the set is consistent with its age and use.
