Brutalist fireplace tool set consisting of a stand and four tools, designed and hand-wrought by David Marshall during the 1970s. This sculptural companion set features Marshall’s characteristic marriage of materials, seamlessly joining sand-cast molten brass handles to heavy, robust black iron shafts. The tools are suspended from a centralized minimalist iron stand that rests on an organic, tri-legged cast brass base. Each tool exhibits a rugged, tactile texture with visible casting marks and a finish that catches light dynamically. The set is signed by the artist.
