David Kirk, United Kingdom, 1960 - acrylic canvas with measurements of 61.5 x 45.5 cm. sold unframed.. signed, with slight paint chips on the edges Born in 1960, Kirk grew up in Somerset and studied at the Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art, Oxford, where he graduated in Fine Art. The following year he won first prize in the National Religious Painting Competition. In 1985, Kirk had his first solo exhibition at the St. James Gallery in Bath and continued to exhibit there regularly throughout the 1990s. Since 2001 he has had numerous solo exhibitions at Rona Gallery, Mayfair. and has also exhibited in many other venues across the UK. Kirk continually explores English landscapes and buildings in his art and, although he appears to have been influenced by Stanley Spencer and Paul Nash, his work displays a very individual approach.
