Product description
This elegant desk lamp, model D-2125, was designed and produced by Raak Amsterdam in the 1970s. It features a sleek chrome metal base and a distinctive white plexiglass shade that provides both direct task lighting and a soft, diffused ambience. The Tropic series included two variants: one with a flat plexiglass shade and another with a round glass globe—this version showcases the flat plexiglass cap. The lamp is documented in the 1972 Raak catalogue (no. 9, page 278).
This model embodies the brand’s innovative approach to modern lighting design. Raak collaborated with renowned designers such as Willem van Ooyen, Frank Ligtelijn, and Nanny Still, creating timeless and high-quality lighting pieces. In very good condition with only minor signs of age and use, this vintage lamp remains a beautiful and functional piece of Dutch design history.
