This antique oil and vinegar set was manufactured by Van Linge of Winschoten around 1820. The design displays a refined combination of materials and craftsmanship from the early nineteenth century, making it a special collector's item for enthusiasts of historic silverware and crystal.
The set consists of two crystal decanters with matching stoppers, set in a holder of silver and wood. The crystal is elegantly cut with a pattern of facets and arches. The holder has a wooden base with a wavy rim, resting on small, round feet. The silver handle is elegantly twisted and crowned with a decorative element. Its provenance is documented with a purchase receipt from Van der Steen Antiquairs dating from 2012.
The object is in good condition commensurate with its age and use. The crystal is clear, and the silver elements display an authentic patina that emphasizes its historical character. The set is complete with both original decanters and stoppers.
