A rare and elegant polychrome porcelain sculpture, created and hand-painted by the Guilia Mangani factory. It represents a crested wading bird, probably a lapwing, meticulously colored. Its legs are in gilded bronze, and it rests on a square base in black melamine-coated wood, set on a brass base... Typical of the 1970s/80s, this piece is in the Hollywood Regency style. Signed under the tail, it is in perfect condition. Guilia Mangani's works (notably toucan, marine fish, scorpion fish, fantastic birds,...), are recognized and sold in the world's leading decorating boutiques, notably in the USA under the 'Oggetti' banner.
