A round rattan and metal side table from the 1950s, a design that brings together the visual lightness of its structure with the tactile character of natural weaving. The arrangement of the two surfaces and the slender profile of the legs create an essential composition in which contrasting materials coexist in a particularly balanced way. The black painted metal rod frame features four slightly angled legs, bent at the upper section to support the circular woven rattan top. Its substantial edge, entirely wrapped in rattan, clearly defines the profile of the table, while a second circular shelf in transparent glass is positioned below, adding a light and functional element to the composition. The contrast between the warm, irregular texture of the weaving, the transparency of the glass and the precision of the metal structure highlights the construction of the piece from every angle. Reflecting the exploration of lightweight furniture that characterised part of 1950s design, this side table combines artisanal craftsmanship with an industrial structure through a simple and direct design language.
