Product description
This coffee table is a design by Knut Hesterberg for the German manufacturer Ronald Schmitt, produced in the 1970s. The piece of furniture is a representative example of the sculptural design of that period, emphasizing organic forms and industrial materials.
The table consists of a striking, sculptural base of brushed aluminum supporting a rectangular smoked glass top. The combination of the silver-colored metal and the dark, transparent glass creates a strong visual contrast. The design showcases Hesterberg's distinctive style, as he often worked with flowing, almost futuristic lines in metal.
The furniture is in a condition commensurate with its age and use, while retaining its structural integrity and original character. The materials show the natural traces of time.
This coffee table comes into its own in a modern or vintage-inspired interior. Its distinctive design makes it a central element in a seating area, fitting both minimalist and more eclectic living styles.
The table has 2 small chips on the glass edge. These are not immediately noticeable.
