An Italian Space Age pendant lamp from the 1970s characterised by a spherical composition combining chrome-plated metal, white-painted elements and a large hemispherical diffuser in opaline plexiglass. The design is based on the contrast between the reflective surface of the upper shade and the softer diffusion of light through the lower section, creating a compact and highly distinctive volume. The upper section is defined by a broad chrome-plated metal dome with a mirrored surface, encircled by a white-painted ring. Below it sits the hemispherical opaline plexiglass diffuser, held within a chrome-plated metal structure. At the top, curved painted-metal elements connect the main body to the suspension system, while the black electrical cable remains deliberately visible, reinforcing the technical character of the design. When illuminated, the opaline diffuser distributes the light evenly downwards and around the lamp, while the chrome-plated dome reflects the surrounding environment and enhances its distinctly futuristic appearance. The combination of polished surfaces, white elements and hemispherical geometries is highly representative of the Space Age aesthetic of the 1970s, characterised by technological forms and an expressive use of modern materials. Condition: Good overall condition, some marks on the plexiglass and areas of wear to the chrome plating. Dimensions: Diameter 40 cm - Height 98 cm - Lamp body height 30 cm Ref.: L0894
