Running Fence was about 5 m high and stretched over 28 km across the rolling hills of Northern California, it was imposing and majestic. The white fabric floated in the wind and reflected light at countless angles and hues, creating dazzling, shimmering contours that cut through the land in lines that were at once soft and sharp.
