Product description
The solid wood, the robust round tabletop, and the strikingly ribbed base give the table a warm, sculptural appearance in the style of 1970s Scandinavian Brutalism.
Particularly interesting is the elaborately constructed extension mechanism: when closed, the table appears compact and round. The tabletop can be pulled apart via the integrated metal rail system, with the central frame simultaneously splitting. This creates two separate, stable T-shaped support feet.
The table includes two separate insert leaves. This allows it to be used in several sizes as needed – from a cozy round dining table to a generous banquet table for family and guests. The insert leaves can be stored separately when not in use.
A particularly beautiful detail is the architecturally designed base with a vertical slatted or grooved structure. The softly rounded edges of the tabletop and the base elements reduce the heaviness of the massive furniture and emphasize the organic character of the design.
The tabletop consists of glued solid wood lamellas with lively natural grain, numerous knots, and a warm honey-colored tone. On the underside are stable metal rails and tension fasteners for fixing the individual plate elements.
Condition: good used vintage condition with traces of age and use. The wood surface shows a beautiful developed patina and occasional minor signs of wear. Construction, extension, and insert leaves appear complete and stable.
