Product description
This is the Oviedo chaise longue, a design by British designer Timothy Oulton. The piece of furniture is characterized by its sculptural form and the contrast between the soft leather and the sleek metal frame. The design is a modern interpretation of the classic chaise longue, inspired by the streamlined aesthetics of 1930s racing cars. The construction consists of a wavy frame of polished metal, on which individual, cylindrical cushions are mounted. The upholstery is made of black leather, which gives a timeless and refined look. The open frame creates a spacious feeling, while the ergonomic shape of the seat is designed for optimal comfort. This design is often associated with the collections of Restoration Hardware, where Oulton served as creative director. The overall condition of this chaise longue is good. The leather has a natural texture and character, with slight creasing that is inherent to the material and contributes to its authentic appearance. One of the 10 rolls needs to be reattached, and the leather support straps in the metal frame (under the cushions) largely need to be replaced. The heavy metal frame is solid and shows a consistent finish, emphasizing the durability and high-quality construction of the furniture. As a striking design object, the Oviedo chaise longue functions perfectly as a statement piece in a living room, study, or spacious bedroom. The furniture seamlessly fits into both modern and industrial interior styles and can be combined with various materials such as wood, concrete, and glass. See also the various internet references.
