Five matching Padina lamps by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni for Flos, a design first presented in 1966 and long out of production.The Padina is pure Castiglioni: a simple spun aluminium bowl, turned into something sculptural by the concentric ribs that catch and multiply the light. Switched off, it reads as a piece of industrial art on the wall. Switched on, the chrome-crown bulb bounces a soft, glare-free glow across the rings, and the whole surface comes alive.Finding one Padina is easy. Finding five together is not. This set lets you light an entire hallway, a corridor, a staircase or a dining area with one coherent, iconic gesture, the way these lamps were meant to be used.
