Product description
A 'Cassiopée' (Cassiopeia) pendant lamp designed by French designer Max Sauze around 1970 and manufactured in his own company Max Sauze Studio, France. In 1968, he founded his company 'Max Sauze Studio' and started to create unconventional lighting by creating geometric compositions built from aluminium stripes mounted on onto fine galvanised steel wire structures. He saw his creations as 'lighting sculptures' instead of conventional lighting. This version is built across 9 tiers of curved aluminium slats set into a cubic wire frame. The curved metal elements conceal the central light source, directing light outward to create a diffused, ambient glow through the lattice pattern. The lamp remains in good vintage condition with minor signs of age and patina consistent with use.
