About this seller
ProfessionalProduct description
The Carousel Chair, designed by Yrjö Kukkapuro for Avarte, is a striking example of late modern Scandinavian design. This lounge chair is characterized by its flowing, ergonomic silhouette and the distinctive combination of black leather and a white fiberglass shell.
The structure rests on a sturdy, star-shaped base made of white fiberglass, which is connected to the shell by a chrome-plated metal element. The generous upholstery is covered in high-quality black leather, structured by precise stitching that conforms to the body's shape. The organic form and contrasting materials give the chair a sculptural presence.
The chair is in very good condition and displays a beautiful, even patina on the leather, which emphasizes its vintage character. The structural integrity and functionality of the swivel mechanism are fully preserved.
This chair integrates perfectly into modern or mid-century-inspired interiors. It is ideal as a freestanding statement piece in a living room, library or sophisticated workspace.
