Hand-blown Murano Glass Vase, 'Reina' Collection, created by Carlo Moretti in 2008 Ø 13 cm h 19 cm. Carlo Nason, born in Murano in 1935 to one of the island's oldest glass-making families, was a great master glassmaker. He grew up frequenting the master glassmakers working in the family furnace, mastering the most refined techniques of glass art, demonstrating an innovative and design-oriented attitude that he applied to design, while remaining linked to tradition. In 1925, the Nason Moretti company was founded by the Nason brothers, specializing in the production of furnishing accessories and tableware, where the mastery of the most refined Muranese techniques integrates with a modern vision and careful chromatic research. In 1955, Umberto Nason created an innovative project of two-tone bowls and glasses that earned him the Compasso d'Oro award. In the 1960s, with the second generation of the family, the company underwent significant development, maintaining its characteristic vocation for experimentation. In the 1980s, the focus shifted to lighting with postmodern reinterpretations of designed lights, featuring the Carlo Moretti Studio line and series of collectible goblets and glasses. Since the 1990s, the activity has focused on new collections conceived with a modern and design-oriented approach. Carlo Moretti of Venice, founded by Carlo in 1958 in Murano, passed to new ownership in 2013 but remains an important company today due to its constant relationship with design. The company is known for the beauty and elegance of Murano glass, gracing not only the tables of the most important households but also modern tables of today. Crafted with ancient and secret techniques, Nason Moretti glassware ranges from warm to cool tones thanks to the wide palette of colors that are blended and from which glasses, vases, and lamps are created. Throughout its history, the company has had numerous collaborations with prestigious fashion brands such as Giorgio Armani, Valentino, and Tiffany & Co.
