Antique German Porcelain Scent carafe or tea box with Amethyst Glass Stopper – Kalk, Eisenberg, circa 1900–1930. An elegant antique German porcelain scent or decorative bottle, attributed to the Porzellanfabrik Kalk in Eisenberg, Thuringia, and dating from the early 20th century. The rectangular porcelain body with softly rounded shoulders is richly hand-painted in an imaginative 18th-century-inspired style. Its decoration combines delicate flowering branches, small birds, ornamental ribbons and finely detailed floral garlands in vivid shades of purple, pink, green, orange and brown. A striking puce trellis border surrounds the upper section, while hand-applied gilt lines beautifully accentuate the contours of the bottle. The piece is completed by an elaborate hand-blown crystal stopper in a deep amethyst-purple tone. Its sculptural bulbous base and tall pointed finial are enhanced with delicate gilt details. The underside bears a hand-painted blue crossed-arrows mark associated with the Kalk porcelain manufactory. Good antique condition with normal traces of time, including scattered age-related marks, light surface staining and wear to the gilding and painted decoration. No major damage is apparent in the photographs. The stopper shows characteristic handmade irregularities and internal bubbles.
