Product description
At the beginning of the 20th century, Europe was captivated by cultures from distant lands, with Africa at the center of attention. During this period, the Hagenauer Workshop produced its first African-style figurines, which were a resounding success. This playful, decorative figurine is from that series.
- Three bronze African figurines on a wooden canoe with brass paddles
- Designer: Karl Hagenauer for Hagenauer Workshop, Vienna
- Origin: Vienna/Austria, 1930s
- Marked: impressed Hagenauer mark, logo, Made in Austria
- Dimensions: L: 19cm x H: 6cm x D: 3cm
- Condition: in good vintage condition with signs of wear consistent with age (surface scratches, patina on the bronze/copper).
