Italian table lamp from the 1960s. The lamp base is made of deep green blown glass with a frosted glass globe shade, molded from a mold. The lamp is in excellent condition, with no cracks or chips. Dimensions: 16 cm wide and 38 cm high.
It is known as a wine bottle lamp, as they are usually made from an old Chianti wine bottle. Chianti bottles are not just wine containers; they are designed to serve and display wine, and due to their beauty, they are recycled and integrated as part of the lamp's decorative structure.
This particular lamp was made from a bottle by Vetreria Etrusca. It can be identified by the "VE" mark engraved on the base, along with the inscription "MADE IN ITALY." Vetreria Etrusca is a well-known glassworks in the Empoli region of Italy, and its products are very popular among collectors. The "A" you see at its base could be part of a mold number or production code, as these brands often included letters and numbers alongside the company's initials.
Today, due to their combination of aesthetics, history, craftsmanship, and functionality, they are coveted collector's items.
