A special and very decorative piece of handmade Glass art.
This sculptural vase is made of very thick, clear glass, with swirling ribbons in red, yellow, blue, green, turquoise, and orange, among others, deeply embedded in the glass.
Due to the large amount of clear glass, a beautiful optical effect is created: the pattern changes from every angle, and the colors seem to float through the vase.
The vase is remarkably heavy: approximately 4 to 5 kg. The asymmetrical, organic shape, the multicolored embedded ribbon decoration, and the smoothly finished/polished bottom indicate handmade Glass art.
The design and glass technique show clear similarities with Italian/Venetian Glass art from the second half of the 20th century and has a distinct Mid-Century Modern appearance.
The vase is not signed and has no original label. Production on Murano cannot therefore be proven with certainty and is expressly not offered as a definitive attribution.
Precisely the combination of the exceptional weight, the thick transparent glass, and the multicolored swirling ribbons makes it an impressive object — even without a known designer name.
