Beautiful Sosaku Kokeshi. This is a handmade kokeshi doll from Japan, featuring beautiful wood grain and lovely hair ornaments with a striped wood grain. This is a Sosaku (creative) Kokeshi, a modern variant that emerged after World War II and allows for more artistic freedom in form and wood type than traditional dolls. The body and hair are made of wood with deep grooves and a distinct wood grain, often treated using burning techniques to create texture. This unique and creative kokeshi doll is a masterpiece of Japanese craftsmanship. The striped bodice, showcasing the beautiful wood grain, is adorned with the striking expression of a young girl with her eyes quietly closed. A bow as a hair ornament completes her neatly styled hair and adds a playful and charming touch to the simple beauty. The band across the bodice gives it a modern and sophisticated look.
