Product description
™ "Design Classics, Design & Vintage Furniture in Like-New Condition" For sale is an original 1960s Niels Bach coffee table in mint condition. ITEM: Coffee Table / Side Table, Disassemblable STYLE: Mid-Century DESCRIPTION: Solid teak frame with solid wood legs, tabletop veneered from a single log with solid wood edges; teak meticulously sealed and oiled five times, with a beautiful, vibrant grain, high-quality craftsmanship MANUFACTURER: Niels Bach, Denmark MATERIAL: Oiled teak COLOR: Teak (dark brown with a beautiful reddish tint and natural color variations) Note: The photos are overexposed to show the excellent condition in detail! Reddish tones appear more reddish, and colors in general appear lighter. The shaded areas, or those not directly illuminated by the photographic light, best represent the true colors. Any gloss or grayish or milky appearance in the photos is due to the lighting and/or exposure (reflections). The surfaces have a satin to semi-gloss finish. DIMENSIONS: Approx. Width: 71 cm; Depth: 71 cm; Height: 50.5 cm CONDITION: Not much text is needed here; the table is technically and visually like new and in excellent condition. You will immediately notice the difference compared to other tables offered online – especially the often-present nicks and scratches on the tabletop and legs. There are no flaws! It's a perfect 10/10! ________________________________________ FORMER LIST PRICE: Unfortunately, the original list price is unknown. To give you a point of reference, if you were to buy a Danish table of this quality new today, you would be looking at around €1,500. PRICE: Our Whoppah price includes the Whoppah gross commission of 19.36% (16% net commission + 21% Dutch VAT). IMPORTANT! Beware when buying furniture! What you should look out for when comparing and buying tables! Please do not compare our table restoration services with those advertised as "restored" or even "professionally restored" by other providers. These often consist of simply sprucing up the furniture with a little wood/teak oil or furniture polish, or attempting to repair dents and scratches with hardware store materials. You can recognize this particularly by the fact that the tabletops do not appear uniformly colored, but rather patchy. Dark stains are often visible around the corners and edges of tabletops, aprons, and legs, indicating that amateurish attempts have been made to conceal nicks and scratches. Pay attention to lighter areas (especially along the edges), as these are abrasions and dents that haven't been repaired. In the case of veneered surfaces, they often signify that the veneer has been damaged by sanding. If you see dark lines running perpendicular to or against the grain, extreme caution is advised. These are scratches and pressure marks that are further accentuated by subsequent oiling, waxing, or varnishing. Removing these signs of wear is very time-consuming and requires genuine professional expertise and years of experience! Therefore, be wary of appealing adjectives (great, beautiful, etc.) combined with "patina," the ominous "vintage condition," or vague phrases like "ready to use | age-related, normal wear and tear | very good, excellent, etc. condition." Exercise extreme caution if table surfaces appear cloudy or mottled. This indicates that tinted clear varnish or colored furniture wax has been used to try and save the piece from being thrown away and to conceal clearly visible defects! Pay particular attention to whether high-resolution photos and detailed images are available, and whether these show the typical areas of wear. Otherwise, request close-up photos of the "patina or signs of wear" and then compare the price to the condition. Keep in mind that a professional restoration is long-lasting and far more expensive than a short-lived attempt at optimizing a sale!
