Product description
Description A striking and rare glass lidded box (bonbonnière) in a distinct Art Deco style, presumably produced in Czechoslovakia (Bohemia) around the 1930s. The object is executed in the so-called 'spatter glass' or confetti technique, characterized by a vibrant base of bright yellow glass, interspersed with spots in red, blue, and green. The design is typical of interwar modernism: a sleek, stepped (geometric) cubic shape reminiscent of a ziggurat. The base features two decorative, applied clear glass handles. Specifications: Material: Hand-blown glass / Spatter glass (possibly Franz Welz or Kralik) Period: Circa 1930 (Art Deco) Color: Yellow with multicolor (red, blue, green) and clear handles Dimensions: 16 x 16 x 16 cm (Height x Width x Depth) Condition: In beautiful and collectible condition. Please note: there are two small chips in the rim. Due to the busy, multicolored pattern of the glass, these are barely noticeable and difficult to see, but are present for completeness (see detailed photos). No further cracks or restorations.
