Antique bentwood chair by Jacob & Josef Kohn, Austria from the late 1800s or early 19th century. The timeless cafe chair features a circular bentwood frame and leg supports and shapely curved legs. They are complemented by a decorative pressed wood seat and back rest. Stamped at the bottom of the frame: J&J Kohn / Wien - Austria.

J & J Kohn were leading furniture markers in Austria from the mid 19th century to early 20th century. They worked closely with artists in the Wiener Werkstatte and were leading competitors off Thonet.
