Spectacular wall light by Toni Zuccheri for VeArt.
Italy, 1970s.
Very rare piece by this fabulous designer.
Chromed metal arm holding a magnificent blown Murano glass tulip,
Transparent, light sky blue shades.
Nice dimensions:
Height 30 cm.
Width 25 cm.
Depth 30 cm.
Superb condition, some minor traces of time, nothing significant.
Toni Zuccheri:
Born in San Vito al Tagliamento (Udine) in 1936.
His father was the painter Luigi Zuccheri.
His mother Jolanda was the sister of the poet and philosopher Giacomo Noventa.
In 1945, the family moved to Venice where he met important personalities from culture and art:
Giorgio De Chirico, Carlo Scarpa, Giorgio Bassani, Elio Zorzi, Mario Soldati and others.
In 1960, he studied architecture, his professors being Franco Albini, Ignazio Gardella, Ludovico Belgioioso, Carlo Scarpa, Bruno Zevi, Samonà...
He became interested in glass and worked at a very young age at Venini where he invented and reinvented working techniques, shapes and colors.
He later worked with Gio Ponti, Lucio Fontana.
And Gaetano Pesce, among others, and his passion for glass accompanied him until his death in 2008.
