Product description
This antique wooden stool is a three-legged seat with a round seat and turned splayed legs joined by stretchers. It originates from Central Europe, from the mid-twentieth century, within the tradition of folk wooden furniture.
Round-seat stools accompanied the kitchen and work spaces of the home, as a light seat easy to move. Their simple construction answered to daily use.
The seat is solid wood, on three round-section legs joined and braced by stretchers. The construction is firm and the whole is stable.
The blue paint of the seat shows wear and small losses that reveal the wood, while the legs keep their natural tone. The surface tells its story of use with no restoration to mask it.
For its compact format, it serves as a kitchen stool, an extra seat or a pedestal for a plant or an object. It fits rustic, vintage and Nordic interiors, where it brings warmth and an honest patina.
