This antique wooden stool is a three-legged seat with a round seat and open turned legs, joined by stretchers. It originates from Central Europe, from the mid-20th century, in the tradition of popular wooden furniture.
Round-seated stools accompanied the kitchen and workspaces in the home, serving as lightweight and easily movable seating. Their simple construction catered to everyday use.
The seat is made of solid wood, supported by three round-section legs that are assembled and reinforced by stretchers. The construction is sturdy, and the whole is stable.
The blue paint on the seat shows wear and small losses that reveal the wood beneath, while the legs retain their natural tone. The surface tells its story of use, without any restoration that would mask it.
Due to its compact size, it can be used as a kitchen stool, extra seating, or a stand for a plant or object. It fits into rustic, vintage, and Nordic interiors, where it adds warmth and an honest patina.
