Antique French religious statue tiara or crown, dating from around 1900. Made of gilt brass with elaborate openwork decoration and set with blue and clear faceted glass rhinestones. The ornament features ornate neo-Baroque and rocaille-inspired scrollwork with a raised central crest. It was made to adorn a devotional statue, most likely the Virgin Mary or the Infant Jesus. Dimensions Height: 4.5 cm Width: 9 cm Depth: 11 cm Approximate inner head diameter: 7 cm Condition Good antique condition with age-related wear and patina. There are 3 large clear rhinestones missing and 1 small rhinestone missing. The empty settings are visible in the photographs. The remaining blue and clear glass stones retain strong decorative impact. A beautiful and unusual antique French religious ornament with strong sculptural presence.
