Product description
At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, porcelain manufacturers gradually abandoned the rigid designs inherited from the Second Empire, allowing nature to enter tableware. Flowers then seemed to climb freely onto the pieces, shapes became softer, and raised patterns animated the light. This small milk jug perfectly illustrates this spirit. Its elegant silhouette is highlighted by a delicately sculpted handle, while a frieze of embossed clusters encircles the top of its body. The flowers, painted in soft shades of tender green, dusty pink, and beige, appear to have been picked from a country garden and lightly placed on the porcelain. Height approximately 15 cm. One can easily imagine this piece on a family table over a century ago, accompanying morning coffee or hot chocolate. Today, it naturally finds its place in a romantic decor, a collection of antique porcelains, or even repurposed as a small vase for a few fresh flowers. There is an old hairline crack at the neck, visible in the photographs, as well as some normal signs of use and slight wear on the rim of the spout. These marks bear witness to its history without diminishing its decorative charm.
