Product description
Massive cast iron stove plate from 1792 featuring a double-headed eagle, crown, and swords in its talons. The symbolism is remarkably detailed for its age. As far as I know, the double-headed eagle (as a double phoenix) is the symbol of the Habsburgs, the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Dimensions: W 50 x H 53.5 cm, approximately 1 cm thick. Weight: approximately 23 kg. Condition: Despite some surface rust, the plate is still completely solid and in very good condition.
