This playful little dish is made of metal (likely brass and pewter) and features two small gnomes on the rim, while the dish itself is decorated with a beautiful floral motif. It was manufactured during the Art Nouveau/Jugendstil period, which spanned from approximately 1890 to 1910. The flowing, organic floral motifs combined with playful folkloric figures such as gnomes or elves were very popular motifs in German, Austrian, and French decorative metalwork around the turn of the century (the year 1900).
Please note: Due to its age, the dish has a lot of patina, and there is a spot on the rim where something appears to have broken off. It is not very noticeable, but you can feel a sharp piece of metal where it likely broke off (see last photo).
