This unique object is crafted from solid, hand-carved red alabaster (natural stone). The stone features a beautiful, deep marbled structure with natural light veining and feels characteristically ice-cold to the touch. The dish is high-quality mounted with an elegant fire-gilded bronze (ormolu) handle with finely detailed leaf motifs and a matching chased bronze rim and foot. Inside, the original antique central mounting pin is located, underscoring the beautiful age and authenticity of the object.
