Beautiful and rare antique bowl on pedestal (compotier / centerpiece) from the prestigious French factory Jules Vieillard & Cie (Bordeaux). This object dates from the late 19th century and is executed in the sought-after, refined blue transfer-print pattern 'Florentin'. Given its age of over 130 years, this bowl is in perfect structural condition: absolutely no chips, hairline cracks or restorations. The earthenware (terre de fer) is beautifully bright in color with a natural, fine craquelure that gives the object its authentic character. A rare showpiece for the enthusiast of high-quality French antique crockery. Manufacturer: Jules Vieillard & Cie (Bordeaux), marked with monogram JV.B on the underside.
