Product description
Expressive and original portrait of former German Chancellor Angela Merkel, created by contemporary German artist Oliver Plehn in 2014.
The painting is executed in a powerful mixed media of charcoal and oil paint on canvas (60 x 80 cm). The work depicts Merkel in a moment of introspection and human vulnerability, with her characteristic facial features rendered with great emotional intensity. The combination of expressive charcoal and subtle yellow oil paint glazes, complemented by undiluted oil paint for deep shadows, creates a strong psychological and visual effect.
